Formula One Lotus 87B

In Febuary of this year Perfect Car Care were extremely priviledged to be asked to prepare the world famous JPS liveried, 1981 Lotus 87B driven by ex-world champion Nigel Mansell. The car was to be shown at the Birmingham NEC classic car show on behalf of Silverstone Classic as part of their display and stand so needed to look its best. As with any classic vehicle preparation, careful cleaning and preservation of patina is always important so the correct use of techniques and products are important to prevent any unnessary damage and leave the car looking its potential best. Having been run (this is a fully working vehicle) and then stood for some time the removal of any surface dirt and dust was carefully carried out in sections and where possible, panels removed and cleaned off the vehicle to prevent any water ingress. The exterior surfaces were then treated with the full range of Swissvax, natural based products to help remove any further stubborn contaminants and leave it looking in fantastic condition and ready for display. This was only a light preparation and with more time the finish could have been further improved but as this is a running vehicle and is used in the Masters events this level of treatment was perfectly suitable.
